Proverbs 31 - Week #4 Wrap Up

Submitting to God's Will

The things we learned:
  • Spending time with God prepares us for our day
  • We should not do things rashly or impulsively but give careful thought to all matters
  • We need to commit and submit our plans to the Lord
  • We need to ask God for his guidance as we make our plans
God's word reveals His will for our lives. The more time we spend reading and studying the Bible, the more we get to know God. As we know Him through his Word His will becomes more and more clear to us. He has not hidden His will from us. He has revealed it to us. His will is not an enigma wrapped in a riddle. It has been clearly revealed to us.

The following prayer is from The Lutheran Study Bible. It is a prayer for obedience to the Word:

O holy and merciful God, You have taught us the way of your commandments. We implore You to pour out Your grace into our hearts. Cause it to bear fruit in us, that being ever mindful of Your mercies and Your laws, we may always be directed to Your will and daily increase in love toward You and one another. Enable us to resist all evil and to live a godly life. Help us to follow the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to walk in His steps until we shall possess the kingdom that has been prepared for us in heaven.; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
