A Virtuous Woman Worth More Than Rubies


Scripture:
Proverbs 31:10
NIV- A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
NLT - Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.
NASB - An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels.
KJV- Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
GWT - Who can find a wife with a strong character? She is worth far more than jewels.
Douay-Rheims - Who shall find a valiant woman? far and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her

Observation:
From the ESV Study Bible - this verse reminds the reader that a good wife is from the Lord: Proverbs 12:4 An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones; Proverbs 18:22 - He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD; Proverbs 19:14 - House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the LORD.

Application - For a wife to be valiant, virtuous, excellent and of noble and strong character, she must be in the Lord. These characteristics are from Jesus. A wife of this type is from the Lord. A wife must put her trust in Jesus for salvation. He then gives her the gifts she needs to fulfill her duties.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that I am already a wife who is valiant, virtuous, excellent and of noble and strong character. The reason I am is because of Jesus. Today I am going to exchange trying for trusting. I am going to rely on your Holy Spirit to help me to do what I need to do. Thank you for making me who I am in Christ. In Jesus name, amen.
