Scripture: Proverbs 31:1-2 NASB
The words of King Lemuel, the oracle which his mother taught him:
The words of King Lemuel, the oracle which his mother taught him:
What, O my son?
And what, O son of my womb?

Watch:
Observe:
King Lemuel shares advice that his mother gave to him. We really don't know who King Lemuel was or where he was king. From the ESV Study Bible - "Most suppose that he was not an Israelite (which is consistent with the fact that the words for son in 31:2 and kings in v. 3b have Aramaic spellings, and with the absence of the special name Yahweh, the covenant God of Israel, from any of the sayings). " The ESV translation is "What are you doing, my son? What are you doing, son of my womb? What are you doing, son of my vows?" His mother was trying to get his attention in regards to how a king is reign. While this is not explicitly stated in the text, maybe he was not doing what he was supposed to do as king and his mother was trying to influence him to change his ways.
Application:
I need to offer godly advice to my child.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, help me to be a mother who gives good, godly advice. I want to understand your Word so I can pass it on to my child. If my child is going or has gone astray from your ways, may your Holy Spirit give me the words to speak to change the course of their life. In Jesus name, amen.
And what, O son of my womb?
And what, O son of my vows?
