John 13:3 Jesus relationship with His Father meant everything to Him. Jesus came to do the will of the Father [John 6:38]. He only did what the Father instructed [John 14:31]. He came to convey the love of the Father to us [John 15:9]. Everything the Father has belongs to Jesus, too [John 16:15]. Our relationship to the Father should also mean everything to us. We, too, should do the will of the Father [Matthew 6:39]. We, too, should only do what the Father instructs us to do [1 John 2:3]. We should convey the love the Father has for us to others [John 15:12]. Everything the Father has given to Jesus belongs to us, too [Romans 8:17]. If we have repented and put our trust in Jesus for salvation, we are children of God. You are a daughter of God. I am a daughter of God. You and I have been given the Spirit of...
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, Ephesians 2:8 ESV I need the Lord. I seek Him daily. I rely on Him and in Him I put my hope. A blog post at http://www.lifeingraceblog.com/2012/03/grace-upon-gracethe-mystery-of-christ/ reminded me that I am not justified by my performance, by what I do. He went to the cross as a spotless Lamb. It is His work that is credited to me. There are no works that I can do to make me right in His sight. For that I am truly grateful. I am a sinner in need of a Savior. God met my need in Jesus. The pressure is off. That's so amazing! I remember reading a book by Chuck Swindoll called Grace Awakening. I read it several years ago. It was a radical awakening for me that I am accepted in the Beloved because of JESUS WORK...
Do you ever wonder if what you do makes a difference? As a wife? A mother? A daughter? A sister? A co-worker? Last night we were driving home from church and we were having a time of impatience with one another. We could blame it on being tired or that it was a late night in the middle of the week. Then I heard Steven Curtis Chapman's song "Do Everything" come on my local K-Love radio station. I think God was trying to tell me something. Everything I do (including, my patience or lack thereof) impacts others, - my husband, my child, my parents, my siblings, friends. Sometimes I impact them in a positive way and at other times it may be in a negative way. It is a choice. I am happy when it is positive. But when it is negative I dwell on it, pack my bags and go on a guilt trip. I realize I need to rely on the Holy Spirit's power ...
