Image
Hi all!! It has been quite a while since I last posted. Life has been busy and blogging has taken a back seat. Well, I am ready to get back into the swing of things... I may not blog daily but my goal is to blog at least 2 times per week. I have decided that this year I am going to challenge my self to read the New Testament in 30 days. The twist is this.... to read a different Bible translation for each month I read!! Above are the Bible translations I'll be using. You may want to read the same ones as above... use the same translation each time you read... or even discover a new translation to read!! Here's a 30 Day bookmark...http://www.pinterest.com/pin/176766354099332496/ Plus, I am also reading this... I am also working on making a 1st and 2nd Thessalonians study for March...   I also have two Bibles to review... KJV Giant Print and NKJV Super Giant Print I want to say thanks for all those who ...

Titles of Christ Bible Study

Image
This summer I plan to do a study on the titles of Christ. I made a worksheet to go with the study. I'll print both pictures on 8 x 11 paper. The study page will be double sided for a total of 97 pages. I'll have them bound at my local staples which costs about $5. I plan to use this study with my new HCSB Bible (I reviewed it here) . The Bible lists all the titles of Christ and their Bible reference.

Calvary comes through...

Image
...over and over again.... I was reading my Max Lucado devotional yesterday, Grace for the Moment (March 7th), and the subject was God arriving just in time. He came to Jonah and just in time delivered him from the great fish... He came to Daniel and just in time delivered him from the lions.... He came to Joseph just in time and delivered him from the prison to the palace... Max talks about how when we are in a jam, Calvary comes. It made me think of this song by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir... And God is no respecter of persons.... He has come through for me. Maybe not the way I expected but He came through nonetheless. He'll come through for you, too.

Today's reading was about Jacob working for Laban for seven years in order to marry Rachel. But when his time was complete, Laban gave Jacob Leah instead of Rachel.   Jacob had been tricked!! Needless to say, he was not a happy camper and complained to Laban. Laban agreed to give Jacob Rachel only on the condition that Jacob work for another seven years Jacob agreed.   Needless to say, two sisters marrying one man only means trouble will be brewing.   Here is the text I want to focus on:   When Rachel saw that she wasn’t having any children for Jacob, she became jealous of her sister. She pleaded with Jacob, “Give me children, or I’ll die!” 2  Then Jacob became furious with Rachel. “Am I God?” he asked. “He’s the one who has kept you from having children!” 3  Then Rachel told him, “Take my maid, Bilhah, and sleep with her. She will bear children for me, and through her I can have a family, too.” 4  So Rachel g...

Part of today's reading was about Abraham's test in the sacrificing of his son.   Here is the part I'd like to concentrate on which is from Genesis 6-14:     6  So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together, 7  Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?” 8  “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together. 9  When they arrived at the place where God had told him to go, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood on it. Then he tied his son, Isaac, and laid him on the altar on top of the wood. 10  And Abraham picked up the knife to kill his son as a sacrifice. 11  At that moment the angel of the Lord called to him from heav...
