God Speaks

Photo Credit Job 38-42 We've heard from Job, the three "comforters" and Elihu. Now it is God's turn... God answers Job.  But it is not the answer Job is looking for. God asks Job a series of rhetorical questions. But if one were to answer them the obvious reply would be, "No." Job finally comes to the conclusion that he really did not know what he was talking about. And isn't that the way with most of our "why" questions? Our whys never really get answered Our whys keep us from moving forward. They keep us stuck. Because ultimately they will never be answered in the here and now. I hold on to this verse for those times of "why": "For now, we can only see a dim and blurry picture of things, as when we stare into polished metal. I realize that everything I know is only part of the big picture. But one day, when Jesus arrives, we will see clearly, face-to-face. In t...

www.sdwsc.com Yesterday I attended a teaching seminar. One of the speakers was Elisa Morgan, former president of  MOPS and currently editor of the online magazine for women called Fulfill. The seminar was based on her book, "She Did What She Could" based on Mark 14:1-8 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death . And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said , Why was this waste of the ointment made ?   For it might have been sold for more than three hundred p...

This book will help you get a grip on the unity of the Bible and its central message - Jesus Christ. I would like to share with you some quotes from the book which have grabbed my attention ~ "Have you ever heard a person say (particularly in the middle of a discussion about the Bible), I'm no theologian, but...? My answer to that is, 'Yes, you are!! All Christians are theologians, but some are more able theologians than others" - pg. 29 "The Christian position, to be consistent, accepts that the Bible is God's Word, and that it says what God wants it to say in exactly the way he wants to say it." - pg.44 "The gospel centers on the birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus as God's way of saving us from death and of making us members of his eternal kingdom." - pg.47 "The gospel ...
