Progressive Revelation

As we begin our one year study of the Bible, we need to understand that God did not reveal Himself and His plan all at once.

He gave it piece by piece.

This is called progressive revelation.

We first see the promise of God's plan in Genesis 3:15...

And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.

All through the Old Testament we see glimpses of God's plan and the coming of the awaited Savior.

The plan finally culminates in the birth of Jesus.

Hebrews 1:1-3 tells us...

 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.
