Ephesians ~ Good Morning Girls Winter Session

I just wanted to remind my readers that the Good Morning Girls Winter Bible Study begins on January 15th. I've done two previous studies with GMG and it is a wonderful way to dig into God's Word and build friendships with other sisters in the Lord. The Good Morning Girls Study uses the SOAP method. You can download the study guide here: http://www.goodmorninggirls.org/2012/01/winter-2012-ephesians-downloadable-documents/.

The wonderful thing about this study is that it is free. All you need is your favorite Bible, a pen, and a notebook. I'll also be supplementing the study with Ephesians: Enjoying Right Relationships by Gene Getz & Claude King.

I am really looking forward to this study. Last year, my pastor completed a study on Ephesians. His focus was the Body of Christ. He used the following verses from Ephesians 4 ~ Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. en we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

During this study may we all grow into the knowledge of Christ and his love for us. May we be as iron that sharpens iron, so we as friends sharpen one another [Proverbs 27:17].
